A stylish new study by Remeis astronomers on jetted active galactic nuclei

We would like to share a new Astronomy & Astrophysics publication from a team of Remeis astronomers from the X-ray Group of Jörn Wilms presenting the “BlazEr” catalog of blazars and blazar candidates from the first eROSITA all-sky survey (eRASS1).

Using eRASS1 data the study, led by PhD student Steven Hämmerich, compiles one of the most comprehensive samples of blazars and blazar candidates, enabling detailed population studies of these powerful active galactic nuclei. The work combines X-ray observations with multiwavelength data to characterise their properties. A reference catalog for blazars and blazar candidates found in the literature is released as well.
