Add xyfit_fun number evaluations in foo_xyfit functions

This change now allows to call functions like
xyfit_fun("foo(1+2)"); allowing wider application of xy models.
It is also possible to access global variables here.

Added a bit more structure to the important tokenize function and
an explanation of the strategy at the beginning.
